Potsdamer Strasse stands out for the peripheral block style of building that is typical of Berlin. As a planning zone, 77-87 Potsdamer Strasse is intended to complement this appearance. The ensemble, which is to include the listed buildings, will take the form of a block of varying height.
There are to be several individually designed office buildings including a medium-level high-rise and a four-storey multi-function hall framed by the surrounding buildings as this corresponds with the number of different tenants. A staff canteen, conference rooms, business rooms and a two-level underground car park also form part of the design.
The facades are planned as perforated facings. The provision of a spacious interior courtyard with retail outlets and a restaurant is an important feature of the design.
